World Youth Skills Day 2023
In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared that 15th July would be known as World Youth Skills Day, to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.
Here at Wills Consultants, we couldn’t agree more. Which is why we work closely with local education provider Tresham College to ensure that young people have all the support they need transitioning from education to the world of work.
Leaving education can be a daunting prospect and we all play a key role in guiding and advising young people, so they can actively engage in society and in the workplace.
In our sector, we can share useful tips on what employers are looking for, what to include in applications, and the best route to reach a particular career.
Over the past two years, we have partnered with the Kettering campus of Tresham College to help students better prepare for the world of work.
We understand how important it is to understand the working world before you throw yourself into it and these vital life skills will help students to sell themselves for a role and kickstart their career.
In regular sessions with the young people studying T Levels, we have covered key topics such as interview tips, networking opportunities, how to use social media responsibly for business and how salaries are calculated.
T Levels are a new, valuable education option for young people in which they can gain academic qualifications combined with real-life work experience. Course content meets industry needs, ensuring that the students can hit the ground running once they have completed the technical-based course.
It is important to empower young people by talking about post-education ambitions and sharing knowledge and best practice. We are immensely proud of our partnership with Tresham College and love the privilege of working with the next generation of business leaders.
Your dream career can start today. And we can help. Using a recruitment company can provide the perfect role or opportunity for you – right now.
